Grace Group

I'd be remiss if I didn't mention our homeschool co-op.  It's one of the exciting things we do.  We have been attending Burke Community Church since this summer.  We so appreciate the opportunities they have for the kids, vacation Bible school, Sunday school, youth group, etc.  One thing we jumped into was Grace Group, their homeschool co-op.  Talk about some wonderful ladies!!  This is how it works: each kids gets to pick two classes to take, the moms help with one of the classes and the during the other half, the moms are in a small group to develop friendship and pray together.  Hope is taking Music for Minors, like music theory and music appreciation for little people, along with What's in the Bible, something I had not heard of before, but it's a series of movies made by Phil Vischer, creator or Veggie Tales.  Julia is taking Cake Decorating and Global Adventures, a geography and more class.  So fun!  I'm helping with Hope's What's in the Bible Class and my small group, amazing!!  I was not looking forward to being in a small group...I had vowed not to make any friends after hard goodbyes in Carlisle...but the girls are awesome and it's nice to have friends.  The moms have a get together once a month.  They call it a Moms' Meeting.  We were told that they call it a meeting because we could truthfully tell our hubbies that we had a meeting.  In reality it's just plain fun.  There is something about being with other mommies who are with their kids day in and day out only to find out that some of my frustrations are NORMAL!!  :)  Ha!  I love that!!  We do look forward to our Grace Group classes and are so thankful for the leadership that makes everything run so effortlessly, from the outside, that is.
